20 - Ecclesiology
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In Christian theology, ecclesiology is the study of doctrine pertaining to the Church itself as a community or organic entity, and with the understanding of what the "church" is — ie., its role in salvation, its origin, its relationship to the historical Christ, its discipline, its destiny and its leadership. It is, therefore, the study of the Church as a thing in itself, and of the Church's self-understanding of its mission and role. The Orthodox Christian Church & The Non-Orthodox

The attendees at the 1997 Eagle River Institute loved him and his teaching. He had no notes, and no outline, just the New Testament! And does he ever know the New Testament! This series on the early church covers the first century mostly when the church was being formed and the apostles and others were eyewitnesses of our Lord.
Professor Kesich is Serbian and although he has lived here over 50 years, still has a pretty healthy accent. You'll want to listen to these several times to get the most from his teaching. His teaching is not heavy or too academic.
This series on the early church touches on topics such as fundamentalism, feminism, evangelism, church growth, development of the canon of scripture, development of creeds, and much more. It is not only for pastors but all laymen will learn from it.
