This series
of lectures given at the Eagle River Institute in Eagle River, Alaska is based on
the book Jesus the Messiah in the Hebrew Bible published by
Paulist Press. 10 hours
This teaching is intense, scholastic and edifying. It deals with Prophecies of Christ in the Old Testament. Dr. Pentiuc believes the Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. His ability to tackle difficult passages by comparing ancient languages is wonderful. Under his teaching the prophecies of Messiah come alive.
While listening to the teaching and again as I edited them, I thought that this is a series of lectures any Orthodox Christian would be thrilled to hear. But it is also one of those rare series you could give to any Protestant or Jew and know that they would hear the truth about Jesus Christ easily opened up and they would not be offended by the tone or language used by Dr Pentiuc.

Jesus The Messiah In The Hebrew Bible deals with the messianic texts found in the Hebrew Bible. Shifting away from conventional paradigms, Eugen Pentiuc develops a new way of understanding the presence of Christ in the Old Testament. His approach is ontological, based on the view that Jesus the Messiah was preexistent, and he appeared in manifold forms throughout the Hebrew Bible prior to his human incarnation in the New Testament.
This book provides an accurate exegetical basis for reviewing the prophetic indicators--as well as the literary explications--of the relationship between the Old Testament prophecy and the New Testament fulfillment of Jesus the Messiah. A work of exegesis and biblical theology entwined with pastoral guidance, this book will be a useful tool for both ministers and faithful in their quest of Christ in the Old Testament. To that end, it also contains homiletic outlines and samples as well as the Church Fathers' writings on the most important issues of hermeneutics.
