Fr. A. James Bernstein

Fr. A. James Bernstein is the pastor of St. Paul Orthodox Church in Lynnwood, WA. He was raised Jewish and helped found Jews for Jesus in 1970. He is a graduate of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Seminary.

BA-21-01     Spirituality as Witness

This talk stresses the importance of living the kind of life that will attract people to the Lord. The emphasis is on 1. Prayer, 2. Faith, 3. Discipline, 4. Commitment, 5. Humility and 6. Love. This is all taught with the analogy of an automobile and how it runs. A very inspirational and practical message.

BA-21-02     Worship and Community as Witness

Basically this message says we ought to do what we do very well. This includes a well prepared worship service, energetic people caring for each others needs and a well paid priest. Fr. James also discusses the various service committees in his church and explains what they do. This is a very practical message.

BA-30-01     Which Came First: The Church or the New Testament?
This message is based on the most popular booklet by the same name published by Conciliar Press. Fr. James tells of his conversion from Judaism to Christianity and his struggle with the claims of the Bible as his only source of truth or that of the church as the deposit of the faith. This is an excellent message.
